UNA NUEVA RUEDA DE FRENO TARDORROMANA CON REPRESENTACIÓN DE JINETE PROCEDENTE DE PUENTE GENIL (CÓRDOBA)

Resumen

Presentamos en esta breve nota una nueva rueda de bocado tardorromana ex­puesta entre los fondos del Museo Arqueológico de Puente Genil (Córdoba) y procedente del mismo término municipal. La pieza se añade a la serie de ruedas caladas con representación de un caballo que tiene en Andalucía su mejor exponente. La originalidad radica en la aparición del jinete, del que hasta ahora sólo conocíamos un ejemplo.

Abstract

We present in this short article a new late-roman wheel bit of bridle on exhibition at the Archaelogical Museum in Puente Genil (Cordoba) which was found within the same municipal área. The archaelogical piece is added to the sort of fretwork wheels with a horse representation which has its greatest exponent in Andalussia. The originality stems from the appearance of the horseman, because, up to now we only knew of one example.
