LAS CABEZAS (FUENTE TOJAR, CÓRDOBA). CAMPAÑA DE 1991. AVANCE A SU ESTUDIO

Resumen

En este artículo se presentan los resultados preliminares de las excavaciones arqueológicas realizadas durante el verano de 1991 en el oppidum de Cerro de las Cabezas de Fuente Tójar (antigua Iliturgicola), con una especial incidencia en dos etapas clave de su desarrollo como núcleo urbano: el Orientalizante Final, coincidente con la construcción de las primeras fortificaciones excavadas, ,y finales del s. 1 d.C., momento en el que asistimos a una intensa actividad edilicia que supone una radical transformación del antiguo asentamiento indígena.

Summary

This paper offers the preliminary results of the archaeological field works held in the Cerro de las Cabezas (Fuente Tójar, Córdoba), the ancient Illiturgicola. The works in this oppidum were focused in the key stages in the development of the village as an urban site, this is, the Late Orientalizing Period, with the first excavated walls, and also the late 1st century AD, in which a strong constructive activity involved a radical change in the pattem of the ancient indigenous settlement.
